Israel Expands Regional Defense Contacts as Iran Threat Persists

Israeli security officials have intensified contacts in recent days with counterparts across the Middle East to strengthen defense ties as the risk of renewed U.S. strikes on Iran raises fears of wider escalation. An unnamed Israeli official said dialogue begun during Operation Lion's Roar with countries that recognized the Iranian regime's threat is continuing and growing stronger. The United States has positioned additional infrastructure and assets in the region for partners, including Israel, to counter Iranian threats. Israel is also weighing renewed strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure and refineries to pressure Tehran to relinquish its nuclear program.
