Jerusalem Moon Festival Opens Two Days of Tu B’Av Culture

Jerusalem's Moon Festival opened Tuesday afternoon at Kfar Shaul, turning the psychiatric hospital's historic grounds into a two-day Tu B'Av cultural program. The festival brings theater, music, dance, exhibitions, tours and giant puppets to the public, including a five-meter mammoth and a family play about Nicanor bringing doors to the Temple. Organizers scheduled the opening of a patient-artist exhibition for 5 p.m. Tuesday, with additional performances continuing Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. The program pairs professional artists with patients and staff as part of an effort to connect mental-health care with Jerusalem's wider community.
