The IDF's 188th Armored Brigade completed a 19-month period of operations across Gaza, ending with an eight-month defensive mission in the south along the Yellow Line. The IDF said the brigade killed about 50 terrorists who crossed the line and posed threats, detained about 30 suspects and destroyed more than 2,000 above-ground terror sites. Working with Yahalom, troops destroyed more than 10 tunnel routes, including part of a system used to hold hostages, and found rockets, launchers, explosives and rifles. The forces also established new routes and posts, while a five-kilometer obstacle was built to strengthen protection for western Negev communities.
