Eight people were injured in a fire in the stairwell of a residential building on Elfasi Street in Beersheba, United Hatzalah said. Responders were told at the scene that an explosion-like noise was heard before the blaze began, but the notice did not identify the cause. An elderly couple, both about 75, were evacuated to a hospital in moderate condition, while six other people were lightly injured. Medics Meir Zander, Simcha Wenreich, Avraham Eisenberg and Simcha Goldman treated the casualties; three were transported in United Hatzalah ambulances.
