Knesset Panel to Weigh NIS 100 Million Religious Services Transfer

The Knesset Finance Committee is expected to consider a new Religious Services Ministry budget request worth NIS 78 million in spending and NIS 17.5 million in commitment authority. The request allocates NIS 8.5 million to religious councils, NIS 26.8 million to religious services and NIS 18 million to rabbinical courts. It also includes nearly NIS 24.9 million for cemetery development, ministry staffing and operating funds, and reimbursement linked to Operation Roaring Lion. Yesh Atid lawmaker Vladimir Beliak, the opposition coordinator on the committee, said the request was placed on the committee's table overnight and criticized the transfer.
