Columbia Tel Aviv Global Center Set to Open This Summer

Columbia University’s long-planned Tel Aviv Global Center is set to open this summer, after its launch was delayed following the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attack. The center will become the university’s 11th global hub and expand research, teaching and partnerships with Israeli institutions. Columbia first announced the project in April 2023, while anti-Israel activists later demanded its cancellation. Columbia Jewish and Israeli Students welcomed the decision as overdue, and the opening will reinforce the university’s existing ties with Israel, including its dual-degree program with Tel Aviv University.
