Ten More U.S. Refueling Planes Head to Israel as Airport Delays Mount

Security officials assess that the U.S. military plans to send about 10 more refueling aircraft to Israel in the coming days, with most expected to park at Ben Gurion Airport. More than 30 American tankers are already at the airport, above the Airports Authority's previously cited threshold of 20 for operational disruption. Average delays this week reached about 65 minutes at Terminal 3 and 61 minutes at Terminal 1, while some travelers waited more than two hours for baggage. The additional aircraft are expected to deepen congestion during the peak summer travel month, though the airport remains open.
