The IDF announced Sunday night that a preplanned naval exercise will run from Monday morning, August 3, through Tuesday evening, August 4, in the Mediterranean between Shavei Zion and Ashdod. Residents, mariners and coastal observers may notice increased movements by security forces and naval vessels throughout the area during the drill. The military said the exercise was scheduled in advance as part of its 2026 training program. It stressed that the activity does not reflect a new security incident and issued the notice to prevent public concern.
