Israel issued a tender on Tuesday to establish a locally produced national quantum computer under Project Nexus, a joint announcement by the National AI Directorate and Finance Ministry Accountant General's Department said. The government also issued tenders and calls for proposals for a physical-AI testing ground and policies to strengthen Israeli foundation-model capabilities. Officials said the projects are intended to lower barriers, advance technological sovereignty and strengthen long-term competitiveness. The government tender portal lists submissions as opening September 6 and closing October 5.
