IDF Destroys Southern Gaza Tunnel Holding Dozens of Rockets

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of a large controlled tunnel-demolition blast rising from open ground in southern Gaza, seen from the air with roads and low buildings in the background.

An IDF Paratroopers Brigade combat team located an underground tunnel route in southern Gaza containing dozens of rockets belonging to terrorist organizations. The military said the route was destroyed with engineering forces from the Gaza Division and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit. Footage released by the IDF, including video from an Oketz military dog's body camera, showed the tunnel and rockets stored inside. The IDF did not identify which Gaza terrorist organization owned the rockets or disclose the tunnel's exact location, length or when the operation occurred.
