IDF Heightens Alert as Israel Tracks Iran-Proxy Escalation Risk

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of three Israeli F-35 fighter jets flying in formation over a mountainous landscape

Israeli defense officials have raised readiness as U.S. strikes on Iran intensify and Tehran weighs its response. The IDF is on high defensive alert, while Home Front Command soldiers were told to remain ready for possible escalation in the coming days; no new public instructions have been issued. Israel assesses Iran may first act through the Houthis in Yemen and militias in Iraq before any direct confrontation. The Houthis have deployed missiles and drones near the Bab el-Mandeb, and Israeli officials remain in close coordination with U.S. Central Command.
