IDF Opens Probe After ATVs Reach Gaza Through Army-Supervised Border Gates

Residents in Deir al-Balah publicly displayed new all-terrain vehicles and performed stunts on them, prompting the IDF to open an investigation into how the vehicles reached the Gaza Strip. Military sources said no authorization was given to transfer ATVs into Gaza and that the case is being treated as smuggling. The vehicles did not pass through the Kerem Shalom Crossing, according to those sources, but through gates along the border fence supervised by IDF troops and Military Police. Security officials criticized inspection procedures at the Gaza Division's gates, saying soldiers remain in air-conditioned vehicles instead of checking every vehicle entering and leaving, and called for stepped-up enforcement.
