IDF Opens Etzion Brigade Probe After Soldier Vandalizes Palestinian Cars

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of three soldiers standing beside parked cars on a Bethlehem street at night

The IDF confirmed that an Israeli soldier was filmed deliberately vandalizing Palestinian vehicles during operational activity in Bethlehem overnight between Saturday and Sunday. Footage shows him puncturing tires, kicking doors and mirrors, smashing windshields and striking windows with his rifle while at least three other soldiers watched without intervening. The military said it views the conduct seriously and that the Etzion Regional Brigade commander opened an investigation. The IDF did not say whether disciplinary measures had been taken against the soldiers, and the investigation's findings have not yet been released.
