Trump Says Hormuz Will Open Soon as U.S.-Iran Talks Continue

President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz would open very soon and warned Iran would be hit hard if it did not. In a television interview, Trump said Iran had called asking to talk and described U.S.-Iran discussions as very good. He said Washington would know where matters stood within 48 hours. Trump added that past presidents should have confronted Iran and framed the current diplomacy as backed by the threat of force. He did not announce a signed agreement or a reopening date.
