Ashkelon Couple Indicted for Photographing Eilat Port and Mount Herzl for Iran

The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment at the Tel Aviv District Court against Tamerlan Amshukov, 26, and Alina Kushnirenko, 24, a couple from Ashkelon accused of running espionage missions for Iranian intelligence. Prosecutors say a Telegram profile using the name Aslan recruited Amshukov, who then enlisted his partner, and that Aslan and a second handler known as David paid them in cryptocurrency. From April to July 2026 the pair documented civilian and military sites, including Eilat's port and promenade, the Ramat Aviv mall and the Mount Herzl compound in Jerusalem, and collected information on the homes of Israeli security personnel. Lahav 433 and the Shin Bet arrested them in July.
