Katz Convenes Urgent Drone-Threat Discussion and Advances Immediate Plan

Defense Minister Israel Katz convened an urgent discussion Wednesday night on the drone threat inside Israel, his bureau announced Thursday morning. Participants included National Security Council head Shmuel Ben Ezra, the head of the Defense Ministry's MAFAT research and development directorate, Brig. Gen. (res.) Dr. Danny Gold, IDF representatives and other senior security officials. The forum reviewed the situation picture on the developing threat and weighed operational, technological and regulatory options. According to the statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Katz are working with the security establishment and government ministries to advance an immediate and comprehensive plan for an operational response, alongside enforcement and regulation steps.
