Israeli Navy Drills Gas Rig and Port Defense Across Mediterranean and Red Sea

The IDF said Thursday that the Navy completed a large-scale exercise this week across the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, led by the missile boat flotilla with the submarine flotilla, coastal defense squadrons 914 and 916, and the naval operations headquarters. Hundreds of sailors and a range of vessels took part. Crews rehearsed seaborne infiltrations, multi-arena combat, aerial threats, the use of firepower and the defense of strategic assets including offshore gas rigs, Israeli ports and national infrastructure. Red Sea simulations tested command, synchronization and cooperation between units. The military said the drill drew on lessons from three years of fighting.
