Trump Says the War With Iran Will End Soon as Talks Progress

United States President Donald Trump said Thursday evening that the situation with Iran will end quite soon, adding that he does not believe Tehran can hold out much longer. He said he is personally involved in the negotiations, that the American side is in good shape and progressing very well, and that an agreement could happen very soon. Trump also defended the campaign he launched against Iran as an operation of enormous importance, saying the ayatollah regime must never obtain a nuclear weapon. He said the alternative would have been a catastrophe reaching well beyond the Middle East, and that he had no choice.
