Trump Says He Would Rather Make a Deal Than Keep Striking Iran

Speaking at an event in Las Vegas on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump said American forces are knocking the hell out of Iran but that he would rather reach an agreement, saying he does not want to kill people. Trump said Washington had been set for its biggest attack since World War II before Tehran asked to talk, and that Iranian officials later denied making the request. He said contacts are continuing and that Iran respects the United States, adding that no previous president had acted as he has because Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. He compared the campaign to U.S. action against Venezuela.
