Home Front Command Lifts Ofarim Infiltration Alert, Residents Free to Leave Homes

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of the hillside community of Ofarim, its pale red-roofed houses spread along a ridge above a divided highway where a truck and two cars approach, tall street lamps lining the guardrail and a rocky cutting on the right, beneath a broad sky of towering cumulus clouds, rendered in warm ochre and slate-blue chalk strokes on textured paper.

The Home Front Command lifted an alert warning of a suspected terrorist infiltration at the community of Ofarim, in the IDF's Binyamin Brigade sector, about 23 minutes after it was issued on Saturday morning. It said residents could leave their homes and move around the area without restriction. The warning had been recorded at 10:16 a.m. local time under the hostile infiltration category, and residents shut themselves inside their homes while it stood, saying they had been given no information. The IDF Spokesperson had said the details of the incident were under examination and that the army was in continuous contact with residents and security forces.
