National Insurance to Pay NIS 1,204 School Grants to 140,000 Families

Israel's National Insurance Institute will transfer annual school grants on Tuesday to more than 140,000 eligible families, ahead of the 2026-2027 school year. The agency is allocating about NIS 335 million, roughly NIS 35 million more than in 2024. The payment is NIS 1,204 for each eligible child aged 6 to 18 and will usually be deposited automatically into the account receiving the family's child allowance. The grants cover 197,000 children in single-parent households and 79,000 children in families with at least four children that receive qualifying subsistence benefits.
