Ben Gurion Flight Delays Jump 86% as August Traffic Tops 100,000 Daily

An analysis of 3,598 flights from August 5 through 11 found average delays rose to 74.3 minutes, up 86% from 40 minutes in July. The same dataset counted 136 cancellations, compared with 83 in July, while 950 flights departed at least an hour late. Daily passenger traffic at Ben Gurion exceeded 100,000, up from roughly 85,000 in July, as the airport handled about 600 aircraft movements a day. The Israel Airports Authority attributed substantial disruption to congestion and restrictions over Greece.
