Iran Says U.S. Talks Have Made No Progress as Interim Deal Falters

A senior Iranian source said mediators have made no progress on restoring the June interim agreement or setting a timetable for its commitments. The source rejected a report that the deal's 60-day negotiating period had been extended, arguing Washington violated the pact within 48 hours. The United States says Iran failed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran says Washington failed to lift its port blockade and release frozen Iranian assets. The report carried no U.S. response to Iran's latest assertion.
