Likud MK Eliyahu Revivo withdraws from party primary

Likud MK Eliyahu Revivo announced Thursday that he will not compete in the party primary expected next week. He said the election method and reserved seats make it very difficult to secure a realistic position. The decision followed reports that he had been offered the post of Israeli ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; the verified reports did not say whether he accepted it. Revivo is a serving member of the 25th Knesset, and in recent months he publicly opposed fellow Likud MK Tally Gotliv's political approach.
