Ofir-SouthUp Targets $20M-$30M for Western Negev Startups

Ofir-SouthUp Ventures is continuing to raise capital and expects the fund to reach about $20 million-$30 million for startups operating in or moving to the Western Negev. Investors include the Kfar Aza, Yakum and Ma'agan Michael kibbutzim; entrepreneurs Dov Moran, Shlomo Kramer, Yehudit and Yehuda Bronicki; ZIM's investment fund; and the Jewish Community Foundation San Diego. Dr. Ami Appelbaum and Itai Horstock lead the fund, named for Ofir Libstein, who was killed defending Kfar Aza on October 7. SouthUp has supported more than 70 startups since 2017, with 27 currently in its framework.
