IDF Opens Probe Into Kusra Conduct and Evacuation Delays

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of people gathered along a rocky hillside track with large stones scattered across the route.

The IDF will investigate this week's events in Kusra and present its findings to Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. The review will examine why soldiers took 48 hours to evacuate an illegal outpost established by extremist settlers, why another day was needed after they returned, and why troops sent to clear it reportedly did not carry out their duty. It will also review Thursday's evacuation of Palestinian families who had been told to leave. Yesha Council chairman Yisrael Ganz condemned violence against uninvolved Palestinians and Israeli security forces, saying private actors cannot decide to establish hilltop outposts.
