Israel Home Prices Edge Up 0.1% in May-June

Israel's dwelling-price index edged up 0.1% in May-June compared with April-May, while remaining 1.5% below a year earlier, preliminary Central Bureau of Statistics data showed. Jerusalem, the north, Haifa and the south recorded monthly gains, led by Jerusalem at 1.8%, while the center fell 1.0% and Tel Aviv declined 0.7%. New-home prices rose 0.5% from the previous period but were 2.0% lower year on year. Government-supported sales accounted for 38.4% of new-home transactions, up from 36.4%, and CBS said additional transaction reports could revise the figures.
