Alyssa Katz Leaves Forward Editor Role After Less Than Nine Months

Alyssa Katz left the Forward after serving as editor-in-chief for less than nine months. She began the role in January 2026, and by Friday her author page described the position in the past tense. Katz previously held editorial roles at The City, the New York Daily News and The Village Voice, and wrote the Forward's Looking Forward column. Asked about her departure, Katz directed questions to the publication's public-relations team, which did not immediately respond; publisher Rachel Fishman Feddersen also did not immediately respond. No reason for the departure or successor was reported.
