Iranian Security Committee Chair Warns Trump Over Hormuz and Personal Safety

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of Iranian security committee chairman Ebrahim Azizi seated at a conference table in a dark suit, with a microphone in the foreground.

Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, warned U.S. President Donald Trump over his personal safety amid the confrontation over the Strait of Hormuz. In an English-language post, Azizi told Trump to worry about his own security instead of continuing what the lawmaker called endless bluffing over the waterway. He said the president should change course before ending up hiding in a food truck. Azizi’s profile also identifies him as the parliamentary representative for Shiraz and Zarqan.
