Trump Threatens to Bomb Oman if It Blocks U.S. Control of the Hormuz Strait

President Donald Trump said in a phone interview Monday that the United States would bomb Oman if it gets in the way of American control of the Strait of Hormuz. He also confirmed that Washington is maintaining behind-the-scenes contacts with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Trump said he has no time schedule for ending the war and is not in a hurry, and he called on Iran to put up the white flag of surrender. The remarks came hours after the 60-day U.S.-Iran negotiating memorandum lapsed without a deal, with the American naval blockade of Iranian ports still in force.
