Netanyahu Demands Hamas Surrender Weapons for Destruction to ISF Chief Jasper Jeffers

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met U.S. envoy Jared Kushner and Board of Peace head Nikolay Mladenov for four hours in Jerusalem on Monday, and demanded that Hamas first surrender its weapons, heavy and light, for destruction by the International Stabilization Force under its commander, U.S. Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers. The sides agreed to open two working groups, one on disarmament and demilitarization of Gaza and one on sanitation and public health. Reconstruction will not begin until Hamas is disarmed throughout the Strip. Israel demanded safeguards against the handover of defective weapons, and said the IDF will hold the Yellow Line and keep freedom of action.
