Iran’s Foreign Minister Rejects Trump’s Economic Threat, Predicts More Failure

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected President Donald Trump's threat to launch an economic operation against Iran. In an official statement, Araghchi said the move was intended to divert U.S. public attention from record debt and sharply rising bank interest. He described U.S. economic pressure as “economic terrorism” that threatens the global economy and countries' national sovereignty. Araghchi said continued reliance on what he called failed policies would produce further failure and deepen hostility among Iranians. He did not specify any reciprocal economic measure.
