Trump Declares 'Economic D-Day' on Iran, Warns Any Country That Aids Tehran

United States President Donald Trump announced early Thursday that Washington is launching what he called the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country, describing the campaign against Iran as an economic D-Day. He warned that any country allowing its financial institutions, businesses, airports or government entities to provide aid of any kind to Tehran would itself face tremendous economic consequences. Trump named oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries and front companies as conduits that must stop immediately. He said Iran's navy is gone, its air force destroyed and its currency worthless, and repeated that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
