Iranian Lawmaker Calls for NPT Withdrawal Over Trump Economic War

Iranian parliamentarian Ebrahim Rezaei wrote in Persian that “the best response to Trump’s escalation of the economic war is withdrawal from the NPT.” His first-party post appeared at 9:30 a.m. Israel time on Thursday. The statement is a political call, not evidence that Iran has formally left the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Under Article X of the treaty, a member seeking withdrawal must give all treaty parties and the U.N.
