Netanyahu Told Kushner a Palestinian State Is a Firm Red Line, Official Says

A senior Israeli official briefed on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's August 17 meeting with Jared Kushner said Netanyahu presented opposition to a Palestinian state as one of Israel's firm red lines. The official described Netanyahu as “100% firm” and said the visiting American delegation did not press him to accept Palestinian statehood. According to the account, Netanyahu raised the issue while explaining Israel's red lines, and “the other side heard the message very well.” The official also said the vast majority of Israelis oppose a Palestinian state.
