Police, Tax Authority Expose Drone Import Network Supplying Crime Groups

Police and Tax Authority investigators exposed a suspected import network that allegedly used an Ashkelon security company to supply drones to criminal organizations in southern Israel. Authorities believe the owner and two employees brought in dozens of drone and equipment shipments from China over time for weapons and drug smuggling. Officers raided the warehouse when another shipment of about 30 drones arrived, arresting three suspects and seizing the drones and related equipment. A court kept two suspects in custody through August 25 and released the third under restrictions; investigators expect further arrests.
