Hundreds of Israelis Stranded at Rhodes Airport Await Flight Home

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of stranded travelers crowding the Rhodes airport departure hall, with a blond boy and seated adults in the foreground and a long queue behind them, drawn in warm ochre and slate-blue chalk and pastel strokes with cross-hatching on sepia newsprint.

Hundreds of Israelis remained stranded at Rhodes airport late Friday after waiting for hours for a flight to Israel. As of 22:24 Israel time, passengers still had no confirmed final departure time. Video from the terminal showed a crowded hall filled with travelers and luggage while the delay continued. The report did not identify the airline or flight number, give a precise length or cause for the delay, or cite any response from the airline or airport authorities. It also did not say when boarding might begin or when the travelers might arrive in Israel.
