Ra’am Convenes 1,050 Members to Choose First Five Knesset Candidates

Approximately 1,050 Ra’am members convened in Taibe to select the first five candidates on the party’s slate for Israel’s October 27 election. Places six through 10 will be selected afterward by the party’s executive council. The gathering is Ra’am’s 28th general convention and comes during its 30th anniversary year, after the party said it had strengthened its institutions and expanded membership. Ra’am said it seeks to replace the current government and participate in a new coalition; party leader Mansour Abbas and former Yesh Atid MK Yoav Segalovitz have separately confirmed talks about a possible joint run.
