Labor Court Awards NIS 137,000 to Woman Fired During Husband's Reserve Duty

A Haifa labor court awarded about NIS 112,000 in compensation plus NIS 25,000 in legal fees to a woman fired after her husband was called up for 150 days of emergency reserve duty. The quality inspector, whose children were four years old and 18 months old, stayed home after their educational frameworks closed and received a dismissal letter without a hearing. Judge Miri Shay rejected later performance allegations and found the submitted hearing protocol fabricated. The court found violations of the Emergency Protection of Workers Law and unlawful discrimination based on parenthood.
