Netanyahu Offers Breast Cancer Researcher Keren Assayag Likud Reserved Spot

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met breast cancer researcher Dr. Keren Assayag on Sunday and offered her a reserved position on Likud's Knesset list. Assayag expressed reluctance to enter politics as Netanyahu sought to persuade her. The move follows Likud primaries that placed only three women through position 25: Miri Regev at 8, Tally Gotliv at 20 and Gila Gamliel at 25. Assayag recently said she faced exclusion in academia after publicly supporting Netanyahu, the government and judicial reform; she has not announced that she accepted the offer.
