Board of Peace Tells Hamas to Halt Gaza Kites, Presses Israel to Limit Strikes

A Board of Peace official said all militant activity in Gaza, including kite flying, must stop, and that the message was delivered through the established ceasefire mechanism. The official also said Israel must comply with the ceasefire and limit military action to genuine and imminent threats. The statement followed Israel's appeal to the Board after recent launches; reports counted 12 kites and four balloons crossing into Israeli border communities during August. The IDF said it found no suspicious material and no danger to the public, while Israeli security officials assess Hamas is encouraging the launches to test Israel's response.
