Hegseth Says U.S. May Resume Strikes on Iran and Around Hormuz

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Washington is not ruling out renewed military force against Iran during the current lull in hostilities. Speaking to reporters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, he said the administration was not foreclosing kinetic strikes anywhere in the Strait of Hormuz or around Iran. Hegseth warned that the United States would respond if Tehran overplayed its hand or targeted the American military, while saying economic pressure is currently hurting Iran most. His remarks followed new U.S. sanctions and warnings of retaliation against countries that maintain financial ties with Tehran.
