Gottheimer Seeks House Vote Condemning Piker After Remarks About U.S. Jews

Rep. Josh Gottheimer called on House Republican leaders to bring his bipartisan resolution with Rep. Mike Lawler to the floor for a vote next week after Hasan Piker's remarks about American Jews. The resolution condemns antisemitic and anti-American rhetoric by Piker and Candace Owens and reaffirms U.S. commitment to Jewish safety and dignity online and offline. Gottheimer said Piker's suggestion that American Jews bring violence on themselves was blatantly antisemitic and showed why the measure deserves a vote. House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries separately called Piker's comments dangerous, malicious and antisemitic.
