Lebanese Army Arrests Syrian Smuggling Rocket Projectiles Into Lebanon

The Lebanese Army said troops arrested a Syrian national near Aiha in the Rashaya district as he tried to smuggle rocket projectiles across the Syrian border into Lebanon. Soldiers seized an unspecified quantity of ordnance and transferred the suspect and confiscated material to the competent authorities. An investigation began under judicial supervision. The army did not identify an intended recipient or connect the shipment to Hezbollah. The same statement said another unit detained 10 Syrian nationals after an altercation at a camp in Sh’at, Baalbek.
