Shekel Weakens 0.8% Against Dollar to NIS 3.012

The Bank of Israel set the September 1 representative dollar rate at NIS 3.0120, a 0.803% rise in the dollar's shekel price, meaning the shekel weakened by about 0.8%. The representative euro rate rose 0.762% to NIS 3.4922, while pound sterling rose 0.761% to NIS 4.0771. The nominal effective exchange-rate index also increased 0.758%, showing the move extended across the currency basket. The bank says representative rates reflect prevailing market rates when fixed and are indicative rather than legally binding.
