U.S. Forces Begin Striking IRGC Targets in Iran After Attempted Attacks

U.S. forces began striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets in Iran at 12:00 p.m. ET, 19:00 Israel time, on Tuesday, U.S. Central Command said. CENTCOM said the operation followed recent attempted IRGC attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and on American service members deployed in the region. The announcement identified the targets only as IRGC targets in Iran and did not name any individual official. The command did not identify target sites, weapons used or the number of strikes, and gave no immediate casualty or battle-damage assessment.
