U.S. Central Command said its forces completed a wave of strikes against Iranian military targets on September 1. The targets included Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps air-defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine-laying capabilities, and communications sites. CENTCOM said the operation followed recent attempted IRGC attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and on American service members. More than 50,000 U.S. service members are operating across the Middle East, and the command said they remain prepared to carry out further directed operations.
