Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office released a chronology stating that military secretary Avi Gil first alerted him at 06:29 on October 7, 2023, and that Netanyahu asked about broad reserve mobilization at 06:44. It says Netanyahu reached the Kirya around 08:00 and was first shown Shin Bet director Ronen Bar’s 05:15 assessment at 09:47. According to the account, Netanyahu convened senior security chiefs at 09:55, ordered the Gaza border sealed, rejected a partial call-up in favor of full mobilization, and directed a wartime order and northern-front preparations. The chronology answered an earlier report that placed his first direct contact with IDF chief Herzi Halevi at 09:45.
