Gaza Division Intelligence Officer Plans Supreme Court Appeal Over Identity

The Gaza Division intelligence officer who served on October 7, identified publicly only as Lt. Col. A., is expected to petition Israel's Supreme Court in the coming days to block publication of his name and legal filings. He is also contesting the military's decision to dismiss him over the failures surrounding the Hamas massacre. The IDF told the District Court there was no security barrier to identifying him, and the court permitted publication but stayed its decision to allow an appeal. The court said the public interest in disclosure outweighed other considerations.
