Hezbollah Bomb Wounds Two IDF Soldiers, Israel Strikes Terror Infrastructure

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration derived from an archival public-domain 2012 U.S. Air Force photograph of an IDF service member and a U.S. Army soldier during a bilateral exercise; it provides military context and does not depict the reported September 2026 Hezbollah attack or Israeli strikes.

The IDF said a Hezbollah explosive device detonated beneath an engineering vehicle operating in the security zone in southern Lebanon, lightly wounding two soldiers. Both were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families were notified. The military said it responded immediately with strikes on several Hezbollah terror sites across southern Lebanon, including observation posts and facilities used to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli forces. Israeli troops remain deployed in the security zone under the existing agreement, and the IDF said it will continue acting against repeated Hezbollah attempts to harm them.
